Meet the Athlete: Ben Knauf

RAPID RIVER — The Bark River-Harris boys basketball team was sitting at 4-5 on the season coming into last night’s matchup against the Norway Knights. Daily Press sports writer Adam Hinch got a chance to catch up with junior Ben Knauf to discuss a variety of topics.
Adam Hinch: So Ben. When did you get into basketball?
Ben Knauf: I really got into it in like sixth grade and started plying competitively in seventh grade.
AH: Do you play any other sports?
BK: I play football and track.
AH: Which sport is your favorite/
BK: After the year we had in football I would lean towards football but basketball is a close second.
AH: What do you like to do for fun in your spare time?
BK: I love to hunt and fish and spend time with may family and my girlfriend and friends.
AH: What is your favorite kind of music?
BK: I would have to say 80’s rock.
AH: What is your favorite subject in school?
BK: I would have to go with social studies.
AH: What is your favorite food?
BK: Watermelon.
AH: What is your favorite NFL team?
BK: The Green Bay Packers.
AH: What is your favorite NBA team.
BK: The Golden State Warriors.
AH: What do you plan to do after high school?
BK: I’m hoping to go to college in Wisconsin or Lower Michigan.
AH: What was your favorite sports moment in your career?
BK: The kick return touchdown to win regionals.
AH: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?
BK: I would like to go on a guided hunting trip.
