Escanaba Girls defeat Broncos for first win of 2025-26 season
HARRIS — The Escanaba girls basketball team found its way into the winning column Friday night as they defeated the Bark River–Harris Broncos 55-47.
The Broncos led 16-11 after one period of play as Emma Zawada had seven of her 17 points in the first quarter and Julia Nault had six.
Landry Bray had a monster night as she led the way for the Eskymos with 21 points
“Landry brought it on both sides of the ball tonight,” Eskymos coach Tracy Hudson said. “Our defense was really good we stayed in man most of the night and sprinkled in our 1-3-1 just to mix things up.”
The Eskymos led 24-22 at halftime and the Eskyomos out scored the Broncos 14-13 in the third quarter with four points each from Susie Moberg and Mara Anderson.
Escanaba seniors Ava Stalboeger and Bray each had six points in the fourth quarter as the Eskymos outscored the Broncos 17-12 in the fourth quarter.
