Menominee state Champions for first time since 2007

DETROIT — For the first time since they went back-to-back in 2006 and 2007 the Menominee Maroons capped off the 2025 season with a return to Ford Field and walked away state champions in division 7 as they defeated Schoolcraft 34-6. The Maroons are the first U.P. team to win the state championship since Ishpeming did it in 2015 with a22-16 win over Pewamo-Westphalia.
Menominee got on the board first as senior Clayton Miller ran it in from six yards out to put the Maroons up 7-0. With 6:09 to go in the second quarter Miller scored his second of three touchdowns on the day as he scored from two yards out to put the Marrons up 13-0 after the extra point was blocked.
Miller broke loose with 7:55 to go in the third quarter as he took it 31 yards to the house and converted the two-point conversion to extend the Maroons lead to 21-0.
With 11:56 to go in the game Tanner Theuerkauf connected with Maveick Geniesse on a 2-yard TD pass to extend the Maroons lead to 28-0.
Schoolcraft got on the board with 6:09 to go in the game as T.J. Luteyn took it in from six yards out to cut the deficit to 28-6.
The Maroons slammed the door with 2:24 to go as Jackson Myszak ran it in from eight yards out to cap off the Maroons scoring.
