Meet the Athlete: Cyler Brunngraeber

ST NICHOLAS — With the 2025-26 boys basketball season underway. The Mid Peninsula Wolverines are coming off a 71-40 win over the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears. Before the Wolverines game against Engadine Daily Press sports writer Adam Hinch got the opportunity to catch up with Cyler Brunngraeber to discuss a variety of topics.
Adam Hinch: So Cyler. When did you start playing basketball?
Cyler Brunngraeber: My first year was in seventh grade. It was the only sport going at the time and I just went for it.
AH: Do you play any other sports?
CB: I run cross-country and track and play golf.
AH: What sport is your favorite?
CB: Basketball.
AH: What do you like to do in your spare time?
CB: I like to hunt and fish and I also like to cook.
AH: What is your favorite kind of music?
CB: Country.
AH: What was your favorite basketball memory?
CB: I would say my eighth grade year against Big Bay de Noc when Caleb Loftquist hit a buzzer-beater and I had to play a lot of the game due to foul trouble.
AH: What is your favorite food?
CB: Lasagna.
AH: What is your favorite subject in school?
CB: Math.
AH: What are you looking to do after high school?
CB: Something to do with culinary.
AH: What is your favorite football team?
CB: The Green Bay Packers.
