GLADSTONE — A 22-0 third quarter run led the Gladstone Braves to a 75-26 win over Manistique here Thursday.

Will Inghram had his first career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

“The 11 rebounds is a huge accomplishment for him,” Braves coach Jake Kiesby said. “We need Will to rebound and stick his nose in there and as a sophomore up on varsity it’s something he’s going to have to learn this year and overall he has done a decent job over the first couple of games.

Of the 11 rebounds five of them came on the offensive side of the ball with three of them resulting in second-chance points.

“Offensive rebounds are huge,” Kiesby said. “You either get easy putbacks or kick it out for quality outside shots and we have the shooters to do that.”

Junior Tre Brunette got the 22-0 run started with a layup to put the Braves up 34-19. Inghram added a layup and Lonnie Davey hit back-to-back 3-pointers to extend the lead to 42-19. Brunette closed out the run with a layup to extend the lead to 54-19.

Inghram had 12 of his 18 points in the first half as the Braves led 32-19 at the half.

“This game really built up our momentum,” Inghram said. “We play well as a team off momentum and energy. We also did a good job of attacking thye baskets and making shots.

Davey led the Braves in scoring with 21 points and five steals.

“This game shows us where we can be when we play well as a team,” Davey said. “We had a little rough start to the season but this win will give us a good boost of confidence going forward.”
