IRONWOOD — A Impending blizzard didn’t stop the Bay College Norse from sweeping a doublehearder against Gogebic Community College here Tuesday. The Women won 92-71 and the men picked up a 77-46 victory.

The Norse took a 42-34 lead into the halftime break.
“We had a rough start in the first half,” Bay women’s coach James Fassett said. “We commited to many fouls and they did a good job of making freethrow and gave us all we could handle at the start.”
In the second half, Bay sophomore Lauren Zawada scored all 25 of her points in the second half including the first five points of the half on a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer from the wing to extend the Norse lead to 47-36.

“Our enegy and intensity were really good tonight,” Bay men’s coach Matt Johnson said. When you hold teams to 28 percent shooting it puts you in a good position to win games.”
