IRONWOOD — The Bay Colllege Norse are now six games into their 2025-26 season. Before their matchup with the Samsons Daily Press sportswriter Adam Hinch got the opportunity to speak with Droubie on a various number of topics.
Adam Hinch: So Emerson. What made you choose Bay as your college of choice?
Emerson Droubie: Coach Johnson really presented it as a good opportunity to take my game to the next level and potentially move on to a division 3 or division 2 school.
AH: What field are you studying in?
ED: Education was my original intent. I’m taking generals right now but now possibly leaning towards the business field.
AH: Did you play other sports in high school?
ED: I played four sports, Basketball, football, track and golf.
AH: What do you like to do in your free time?
ED: We have a cabin about an hour north of my hometown of Cambridge, Minn. and we go up there and do fishing on the lake. We have a pontoon and just spend quality time out there.
AH: What do you like to fish for?
ED: Walleyes for sure but me and my buddies like fishing for Largemouth Bass and Crappies as well.
AH: What is your favorite kind of music?
ED: I like rap and country.
AH: Do you have a favorite artist?
ED: For rap it would be Lil Baby and for country I like Morgan Wallen and Zach Bryan a lot.
AH: What is your favorite NFL team?
ED: Being from Minnesota I like the Vikings not the Packers or the Lions but I grew up a Seattle Seahawks fan.
AH: What is your favorite food?
ED: I’m a big chicken ceaser salad fan.
AH: You a video gamer?
ED: I played a lot of fortnight back in the day but not so much anymore.
AH: What is your favorite part about being in the UP?
ED: I wanted to go somewhere I haven’t been in my life and it’s about the same size as my hometown and it’s such a nice community and really feels like home.
AH: How do you feel the team chemistry is going so far this season?
ED: The chemistry is great these are all really cool guys and I’m happy to be apart of it.
AH: What was your favorite subject in school?
ED: I teally enjoyed human geography during my senior year.
AH: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?
