Munising Baptist claims NLL Tournament Title

MUNISING — Munising was the host site for the Northern Lights League soccer tournament. Munising Baptist capped off their undefeated season by beating Big Bay de Noc 2-1.

The Black Bears got on the board first on a goal by junior Parker Pederson however Munising Baptist junior Isaac Beaverson and senior Dylan Swift each had goals in the game to give the Bobcats the win.

Big Bay de Noc advanced to the championship game defeating Hannahville in a shootout. MJ Smith had the first goal of the game for Hannahville.

Late in the second half sophomore Elijah Cooper scored the tying goal the Black Bears made all five shots in the overtime period and Hannahville made the first three but the game ended when a shot by Miles Halfaday was scored to give Big Bay the win.

Hannahville won their opening round game over Beaver Island 3-0. Senior Sam Beaver scored the first goal to put the Soaring Eagles up 1-0. Hannahville extended the lead to 2-0 on a goal by MJ Smith. And later in the game Devin Artegea scored to put the Soaring Eagles up 3-0.
