RAPID RIVER- The Bark River Broncos quickly defeated the Rapid River Rockets in straight sets, (25-14, 25-17, 25-14) here Thursday in Rapid River.

In the first set, Rapid had served first with junior Kinsley Damon making it over and Bark River getting three touches but couldn’t get it over. Kinsley went up to serve again and it was good, Bark River got it over and Rapid hit it into the net leaving the score to be (1-1). This led to #11 Alayna Nault getting 11 consecutive serves but she lost it, leaving the score at 12-2. During that time senior Dakota Bridges had two kills. By the end of the first set sophomore Alayna Nault had 14 serves.

In the second set, Bark River had first serve with Nault getting one point before handing it over to the Rockets, The serves after this kept going back and forth until it ended up in Bark River’s favor as junior Zoey Jorasz had a four-point serving run. The 3rd was played out until Jorasz sent over a free ball that ended up as a kill. After her serve was over and the ball was turned over to Rapid the score was (23-14). junior Donna McDonald had three serves,the first two being aces, leaving the third to be hit out of bounds with the score being 24-17.

In the third set, it started off with the Rockets having first serve. Junior Saylor Carlson delivered a kill for the first point of the set. Throughout the entire set the serves were constantly switching throughout the teams but it resulted in senior Kaiya Davis sending over 2 serves to finish the game.

The Broncos will be back in action Tuesday as they host Escanaba. Rapid River will host Superior Central Thursday.
