Meet The Athlete: Ashton Rymkos

ESCANABA — As the Escanaba Fan Club officially unveiled the new renovation of the football stadium to the community, Daily Press sports writer Adam Hinch got a chance to sit down with Escanaba senior Ashton Rymkos to discuss a number of topics.
Adam Hinch: What got you into playing football?
Ashton Rymkos:I watched a lot of football with my dad growing up. And what kid doesn’t want to be an NFL athlete when they are a kid and that’s really what got me into the sport.
AH: What is your favorite NFL team?
AR: The Green Bay Packers.
AH: Who is your favorite player, past and present?
AR: Currently it would be Josh Jacobs and of the past Aaron Rodgers.
AH: What is your favorite subject in school?
AR: Math.
AH: What do you like to do in your spare time?
AR: Hang out with my friends and go golfing.
AH: What kind of music do you like?
AR: Grunch. Like late 90s early 2000s rock.
AH: What is your favorite food?
AR: Steak or Chicken.
AH: What is your most memorable moment from your football career?
AR: Midnight practice my junior year.
AH: How close is this team together this season?
AR: We are really close. Most of us have been playing sports together our whole life and we have all been friends forever.
AH: What would it mean to you to make a deep playoff run in your senior season?
AR: It would be huge. We haven’t made a long run in like eight years so it would be great for not only us but the community as well.
