Meet the Racer Maci Lantagne

ESCANABA — As the Escanaba Motor Speedway is the midst of a three-week break before championship Saturday night it’s time for this week’s Meet the Racer as Daily Press sports writer Adam Hinch got the opportunity to sit down with sport compact driver Maci Lantagne to discuss a number of topics.
Adam Hinch: What got you into racing?
Maci Lantagne: My Grandpa and my Dad Race and that is what got me into it.
AH: What is your favorite subject in school?
ML: I’d have to say math.
AH: What is your favorite food?
Ml: Pizza.
AH: What do you like to do away from racing?
ML: I enjoy being with animals and being outdoors.
AH: What other hobbies do you have?
ML: I enjoy horseback riding.
AH: What made you want to get into riding horses?
ML: I love animals and I have always had a need for speed.
AH: Do you like to hunt or fish?
ML: I like to hunt.
AH: What is your favorite beverage?
ML: I like Alani’s carbonated drinks.
AH: How hard was it moving from the youth sprints to the sport compacts?
ML: It wasn’t hard. I didn’t really like the sprint cars. I like my new car better.
AH: What do you want to do for a career when you are grown up?
ML: I want to be a lineman there aren’t many girls in that field and it is something I could be very good at.
