Johnsen claims track championship

ESCANABA — Saturday night was championship night as well as the Bob Iverson Memorial Race here Saturday.

In the exhibition vintage class it was Jamie Iverson picking up the feature win. Charles Peterson came in second and San Slaga finished third. Terry Royer came home fourth as well as a win in heat race action. Derek LeBresh rounded out the top five.

In the youth micro sprints, Tanner Rae picked up a heat and feature sweep as well as the track championship. Colton Yelle came from sixth on the grid to finish second. Amelia Hart came in third after starting ninth. Carson Wagner and Wyatt Ammel rounded out the top five.

In the sportsman sprints, Gage Heim picked up the heat and feature sweep. Kristy Karl came in second and Tanner Hanson finished third. Macy Degnan came in fourth and won a heat race. Nathan Viau rounded out the top five. Braxton Lundquist took home the track championship his third straight.

In the super modified class, Rick Ness took home the heat and feature sweep. Paul Hosking came in second claming the season championship. Jesse Denome finished third and Scott Degnan and Drake Degnan rounded out the top five.

In the 600 sprints Logan Getzloff came away with the clean sweep. Chase Richer came in second and Ethan Manninen came in third and won the track championship. Bentley Richer and Jayger Quinn rounded out the top five.

In the sport modified class, Matt Maki IV picked up the heat and creature sweep. Anthony Harper finished second and Bradley Seppanen finished third. Ryan Lindbert and Jesse Denome rounded out the top five. Denome was crowned as track champion. Pat Richer and Brent Smith won the other heat races.

In the street stock class, Eric Mathieson picked up the feature win. Qwentin Johnsen came in second and won the track championship. Drake Degnan came in third. Karter Koth came in fourth and won a heat race. Carter Gustavson finished fifth. Brayden Lundquist won the other heat race.

In the sport compacts, Tombo Waselesky picked up the heat and feature sweep. Andrew VanDrese came in second and won the other heat race as well as the track championship. Brandon VanDrese came in third. Austin Demeuse and Logan Reifffers rounded out the top five.
