The Jets were unable to take off tonight as it fell to Norway in straight sets during a Skyline Central Conference volleyball matchup here Thursday.
The Knights took a 6-1 lead out of the gate in the first set, then ended the first set with a nine point scoring run by Payton Paquette as the Knights took the first set 25-7.
“We have been working on coming out with high energy,” Knights coach Meghan Rossato said. “We have had some issues with getting down on ourselves and im glad they didn’t do that today.
The Knights jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second set on a seven-point scoring run including four aces by sophomore Addyson Burklund.
The Jets responded by tying the second set at 16 with aces by Mylie Luedtke and Addysyn DeAngelo.
“I expected Norway to be tough,” Jets coach Rick Mick said. “We have a whole new team with the exception of two players who are returning from last year so we know we are a young team and it is going to take some time to adjust to the speed of the game.”
The Knights trailed 1-0 and went on a 17-point run including a 16=point service run by Paquette including four aces.
“We have been working on our energy level and being consistent,” Paquette said. “We were aiming for the corners and just trying to put the ball in a good location.”
