Degnan, wins second leg of vintage modified triple crown

SANDS — Super modified drivers from Escanaba Motor Speedway made their way to Sands Speedway for the second leg of the triple crown that concludes Friday night in Norway.
Scott Degnan took the feature win as well as a win in heat race action. Rick Ness came away with a second place finish and Abi Yelle finished third. Paul Hosking and Jesse Denome rounded out the top five.
In the late models, Charlie Bell came away with the feature win. Evan Hawley came home with a second place finish which will keep him first place in points as he battles for the track championship. Reece Cavin finished third and Bob Goodwin and Nathan Goodwin rounded out the top five.
In the super stocks, Jeremy Yelle picked up the heat and feature sweep. Bode Johnson came away with a second place finish and Darryl Wirkula came in third. Brian Elly and Izayah Reed rounded out the top five.
In the Fuel injected class, Elliott Samppala picked up the feature win. Tony Naybach came in second and Evan Hawley finished third. Thad Goodwin came in fourth and Tyler Bell finished fifth and won the heat race. Thad Goodwin won the dash for cash race.
In the stock fours class, Don Cotterman picked up the heat and feature sweep. Bernard Penegor came in second and Madelyn Terras finished third. Andrew Burdick and Kristian Waters rounded out the top five.
In the mod fours race, Al Wendrick picked up the feature win. Mark Isley came in second and Shawn Harry came in third and won the heat race. Abi Yelle and Bernard Penegor rounded out the top five.
