Escanaba Bears 13U close season with title

MARINETTE — Garrett Lanaville drove in four runs on two hits including a grand slam as Escanaba Bears 13U Ends season with tournament title.

The Bears faced off in the championship game against Luxemburg Casco taking the game 14-0 in four innings.

The Bears put up 11 of their 14 runs in the third inning. Along with the homerun by Lanaville, Brody Steinhauer had a two-run single, Nolan VanDamme singled twice in the inning, each hit scoring a run and Jordyn Smith had a two-run single.

Smith also earned the win on the mound allowing zero runs on six hits with one strikeout and zero walks.

The Bears outscored their opponents 61-6 over the weekend including three shutout performances. The Bears also only committed two errors in the five games.

The Escanaba 13U Bears finish the season with a 15-4-1 record with two tournament titles.
