ESCANABA — With just one week remaining till Escanaba Motor Speedway drops the first green flag of the season, The speedway held its Motorsports Mayhem event on May 10, 2025 at the U. P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba. Daily Press sports writer Adam Hinch had the opportunity to sit down with youth micro sprints driver Abby Lantagne to discuss a variety of topics.

Adam Hinch: What got you into racing?

Abby Lantagne: My dad and grandpa got me into racing. I enjoyed watching them and realized I wanted to do it.

AH: Do you play any sports outside of racing?

AL: I like to play soccer because it’s fun.

AH: What do you like to do in your free time?

AL: I like to go ride around on my four-wheeler.

AH: What is your favorite food?

AL: I like tacos.

AH: What is your favorite subject in school?

AL: I don’t really have one but I would say math.

AH: What is your favorite drink?

AL: Root Beer is awesome.

AH: What is your most memorable moment from racing so far in your career?

AL: My first race being on the track and competing.

AH: What are your goals for this season?

AL: I want to improve on last season and win a feature.
