Gladstone baseball pummels Marquette
GLADSTONE — Gavin Frossard collected three hits in three at bats as Gladstone boys baseball defeated Marquette 15-5 here Thursday.
Frossard ended the day a home run short of the cycle as he tripled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the third inning.
The Braves scored eight runs in the third inning as Davin Mattonen had a two-run single. Vinny Rebholz was hit by a pitch that brought in a run, Bret Seger hit a sacrifice fly to bring in a run. Casey Alworden had an RBI-double and Gavin Fossard hit a bases loaded triple to put the Braves up 10-2 after three innings.
Trevor Thorbahn earned the win for the Braves, allowing five runs off seven hits with six strikeouts and three walks.
The Braves collected 12 hits as a team with Frossard, Rebholz and Landon VanTassell each collecting multiple hits.
Alex Brennan led the way for Marquette, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
