GLADSTONE — Despite committing three errors Gladstone baseball walked away with an 8-4 win over Bark River-Harris on Saturday at Don Olsen Field.

Despite the defensive hiccups the Braves mustered 12 hits off the Broncos, including a three-hit performance from Aiden Burie. The Braves also struck first with a two-out, two-run single from Chase Potes in the bottom of the second.

The Broncos immediately shaved the deficit in half, capitalizing on errors by Austin Pepin and Casey Alworden, allowing Dominick Lantange to score.

Pepin, who allowed the lone unearned run off four walks and five strikeouts in three hitless innings, made up for his error with an RBI single in the bottom of the third which scored Burie. Pepin also scored in the frame off an error by BR-H third baseman Kaleb Desilets, and a bases-loaded walk gave the Braves a 5-1 lead after three innings.

Once again the Broncos had an immediate response. Dane Schmitt belted an RBI single, and BR-H capitalized on a balk and wild pitch from Alworden, who allowed three runs off four hits with a walk and five strikeouts on the mound.

The Braves broke the game loose in the bottom of the fifth off RBI singles from Alwoden and Pepin and an RBI double from Burie.

Schmitt earned a two-out single in the sixth, but senior Jacob Mileski popped out to Burie to end the game.

Schmitt finished 2-for-3 for the Broncos. Lantange took the loss, allowing eight runs (six earned) off 11 hits with five walks and four strikeouts. Gabe Spear allowed one hit in 1/3 inning of relief.

Pepin, Alworden, Potes and Braylon Robinson all had multi-hit games for the Braves. Potes drove in three runs and Pepin brought in two.
