Week 6 football roundup: Broncos, Jets stay hot with strong wins

Bark River-Harris and North Central stayed hot during Week 6 action. Here’s what went down.
Bark River-Harris 54, L’Anse 0
The Broncos had plenty of reason to celebrate the end of homecoming week with their fourth-straight win.
Dane Schmitt finished 3 of 5 passing for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Justin Bergquist caught both scores and racked up 82 yards receiving. Christian Spear totaled 82 yards on five carries with a score. Troy Johnson accumulated 103 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Gionni McDonough earned a first quarter pick-6.
The Broncos start their season-ending three-game road trip at 7 p.m. Friday against Iron Mountain.
North Central 60, Lake Linden-Hubbell 8
The Jets and Lakes collided twice in 2023. LL-H snapped the Jets’ historic winning streak in the regular season and emerged victorious in their playoff matchup.
In 2024, the tide changed. Violently.
The Jets out-rushed the Lakes 368-46 and denied the Lakes on all nine third down plays.
Ben Stage accumulated 83 total yards and three passing touchdowns, finishing 5 of 5 through the air. Lane Gorzinski tallied 274 yards of total offense, including 220 on the ground, and earned three total touchdowns while also leading the Jets with seven tackles. Kaden Malone and Spencer Willa each had a receiving touchdown.
North Central, currently on a five-game winning streak, travels to face Ontonagon at 7 p.m. Friday.
