Escanaba Speedway begins renovations for 2025 season
ESCANABA — Escanaba Speedway began its multi-phase facelift for the 2025 season Tuesday as it added over 400 yards of new clay to the speedway.
“We put new clay down last season,” track president Amy Gagne said. “Now we are just putting the rest of it down to get ready for next season.”
The track added clay this spring but without proper time it led to rough conditions to start the season.
“We are adding the rest here before winter,” Jesse Denome said. “That way all the rain and snow can sink in and cure with the old clay which will lead to a better racing surface. When added to the clay this spring it never had a chance to mix with the old clay and it made for a rough start. As the season went on it got better and better so we believe that getting it on early is the key going into the next season.”
The Escanaba Motor Speedway would like to extend a thank you to everyone involved in putting on the new clay.
“There are so many people who put time into helping us at the track,” Gagne said. “We have a great group of people who support us.”
The Escanaba Motor Speedway plans to open its 2025 season in May with an exciting schedule.
