ESCANABA — Escanaba Speedway kicked off the U.P. State Fair Monday night with the annual fair races.

In the exhibition vintage class, it was Abi Yelle picking up the feature win after a DNF in heat race action. Gerry Olson came home second and won a heat race and Dave Broeders was third while Randy DeGrave and Don Benoit rounded out the top five. Kevin Lustila was the winner of the other heat race.

In the super modifieds, it was Paul Hosking picking up the feature win with Scott Degnan finishing second and won the heat race with Rick Ness coming in third. Bradley Seppanen and Drake Degnan rounded out the top five.

In the youth micro sprints, it was Wyatt Ammel picking up his first career feature win. Julia Maki had a strong run finishing in second while Nathan Winling Jr. finished third and won the heat race while Easton Winling and Finn Bower rounded out the top five.

In the sportsman micro sprints, Kristy Karl came away with the heat and feature sweep. Griffin Iverson came in second and Braxton Lundquist came in third and won the other heat race. Tanner Hanson and Bentley Richer rounded out the top five.

The 600 sprints went wingless on Monday night with Logan Getzloff picking up the feature win. Kevin Warm was second and Ethan Manninen was third. Robbie Knight and Scott Richer rounded out the top five. Chase Richer won the heat race.

In the sport modifieds, Matt Valiquette picked up the sweep with wins in heat and feature action. Matt Maki IV came in second and won a heat race while Jesse Denome came in third and also picked up a win in heat race action. Anthony Harper and Lonnie Dalgord rounded out the top five.

In the sport compacts, Ellliott Reid fresh of two wins at Armageddon on Wheels picked up the feature win Monday night. Trever Cronick came in second and Calvin Stuek came in third and won a heat race. Reggie Lantagne and Tombo Waselesky rounded out the top five. Alex Bellmore won the other heat race.

In the street stocks, Eric Mathieson picked up the feature win. Ford Malvitz came in second and won his heat race. Brayden Lundquist finished third and Parker Derks and Cody Turner rounded out the top five. Jimmy Reath picked up the other heat win.
