WELLS–Four games, four wins and back to .500.
Bay College earned a four-game sweep over Delta College this weekend. Here’s what went down:
Bay 5, Delta 2
Trailing 2-0 midway through three innings J Blake needed one swing to make it a new game. Blake belted a two-run home run over the fence in left field to tie the game.
The Norse took the lead at 4-2 thanks to a two-run double from George Cooper in the bottom of the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth off a passed ball to a definitive 5-2 lead.
Hunter Ballantyne earned the win, allowing two runs (one earned) off three hits with a walk and eight strikeouts across seven innings of work. Lorenzo Feliciano finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Cooper finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
Bay 5, Delta 1
Zach Gibson put the Norse ahead 1-0 off a solo home run to left.
With Tyler Darmogray up to bat and the bases loaded, the former Gladstone standout had the chance to blow the game open. Technically, he did, but not in a normal way.
Down 0-2, Darmogray took ball one, which got away from the catcher and allowed Bill Hosegood to score and move the remaining runners up one base.
Two pitches later Darmogray hit into a groundout. But a Pioneers’ error allowed Darmogray to reach first safely and let Jace Cota score from third for a 3-0 lead.
Blake homered in the fourth for a 4-1 advantage and scored Darmogray on a single in the bottom of the sixth.
Cooper earned the win, allowing one earned run off five hits with four walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work. Zac Gomersall retired the side in order in the seventh.
Bay 9, Delta 2
The Norse found themselves down 2-0 after four innings. An RBI single from Darmogray put the Norse on the board. Darmogray later scored off a Pioneers’ error to tie the game at 2-2.
Andres Franco put the Norse ahead in the sixth with a two-run double, and Cota made it 6-2 two batters later with a two-run home run. Aedan Creten belted a three-run home run in the seventh for good measure and extend the lead to seven.
Creten finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Cota added two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Cooper finished 2-for-4 with a double.
Feliciano earned the win, allowing two earned runs off four hits with a walk and 11 strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Bay 12, Delta 8
Coper put the Norse ahead in the first with a two out, three-run home run. Bay added sacrifice flies from
Blake and Gibson for a 5-1 lead.
With the advantage tightly trimmed to 6-5, after five innings, the Norse tacked on insurance run in hopes of securing the sweep.
An RBI single from Charlson Croes and RBI double from Darmogray made the lead 8-5. Then Gomersall crushed a 2-1 pitch over the fence in left for a two-run home run and a 10-5 advantage.
Darmogray finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a double and an RBI. Gomersall finished 2-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBI. Blake finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, run scored and a stolen base.

The Norse start a four-game home series with Community Christian College starting at 2 p.m. Saturday. Sunday’s doubleheader starts at 3:30 p.m.
