IRON RIVER –West Iron County didn’t have Danica Shamion on Thursday. Escanaba took full advantage in a 73-38 road win.

The Eskymos led 21-9 after the first quarter and 44-15 at the half. Esky also finished 12-of-17 from the free-throw line and committed three turnovers.

Senior Keira Maki led the orange and black with 20 points while adding eight rebounds, three blocks and an assist. Junior Grayson Lamarche tallied 15 points, nine boards, a trio of steals and two assists. Junior Katey Lamb contributed 12 points, five helpers, four boards and four steals. Junior Emmerson Salo tallied nine points, three steals and two assists while shooting a flawless 4-of-4 from the floor. Senior Morgan Maki added five points, a block and a steal.

Ashley Foust and Brooke Miron added four points each. Ashley Hubert added two points. McKenzie Engebretson added two boards.

The Eskymos collide with rival Gladstone on Jan. 4th and venture to Elk Rapids on Jan. 5th.
