BR-H names new football coach after Stenberg retires
HARRIS – Bark River-Harris Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Caleb Adams as
head coach of the Varsity football team.
Adams replaces Al Stenberg, who retired after 14 seasons with the Broncos.
Adams brings playing and coaching experience to BR-H. Adams served as the school’s junior varsity head coach and as the assistant football coach since 2019.
From 2017-2020, Adams served as Student Coordinator of Rec Sports at the University of Michigan, where he earned his Master’s in Educational Studies, with a BA in Psychology. During his tenure at U of M, Adams was an MHSAA registered official, certified in Basketball and Football, and has extensive knowledge of the MHSAA football Rule Book.
Adams is currently a Social Studies/Psychology teacher at BR-H and employs inquiry-based
learning strategies to motivate students.
Adams played Varsity Football at BR-H for three years. He was an all-conference guard and team captain.
“I’m excited to build off the already successful program at Bark River-Harris and share the
knowledge of the game I’ve learned through the years”, coach Adams said.
“Caleb’s knowledge of the game, both offensively and defensively is a great strength but his
personality, his love for the game and his ability to connect with our athletes will be his greatest
contributions. He’s a great fit for our school and the football program,” said Jeanne Lippens, BR-H Athletic Director.
