Norse get split in Minnesota
ELY, Minn. — The Bay College women gained a split in two basketball games this weekend in a 57-36 triumph over Minnesota North-Itasca Community College here Saturday.
Bay dropped Friday’s contest to Minnesota North-Rainy River Community College 60-59.
Alyssa Cretton scored 14 points and Kassidy Roll added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Norse (3-3) Saturday. Tiana Jones had 14 points and 10 boards for Itasca (0-7).
The Norse held a 39-34 rebounding advantage and hit 21-of 65 field goals.
Cretton also led the Norse Friday with 21 points and nine rebounds. Alaina Trudeau added 15 points, but got banged up in that contest and didn’t play Saturday.
Bay was outrebounded 45-28 and hit 17-of-58 field goals.
Shamiyah Bradford hit 17 points in a reserve role for the Voyaguers. Cara Polk had 13 and Maddie Lowe chipped in with 10.
The Norse host Lake Superior State’s jayvees tonight at 7.
