Jets bound for state semifinals
POWERS — Senior Luke Gorzinski ran for four touchdowns here Friday night, leading the top-ranked North Central Jets to a 45-6 eight-player football triumph over the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes in a Division 2 regional final.
The Jets travel to downstate Marion for a state semifinal contest Saturday at 1 p.m.
Gorzinski gave the Jets (11-0) a 7-0 lead on a 45-yard run in the first quarter.
The Lakes (7-4) closed within 7-6 on a 29-yard pass from Sam Roberts to Dan Marcotte early in the second.
Gorzinski dashed for TDs from 57 and 35 yards in the second, giving the Jets a 21-6 halftime cushion.
The Jets made it 27-6 on Gorzinski’s one-yard run in the third.
Dillon Raab added a 10-yard TD run and Jacob Gorzinski scored from 18 in the fourth.
North Central finished with 454 yards in total offense, including 366 on the ground.
Luke Gorzinski rushed 18 times for 250 and completed 5-of-10 passes for 88.
Senior Dillon Raab ran four times for 55 and caught two aerials for 63. Lane Gorzinski gained 43 on five carries.
LL-H passed for 123 of its 207 yards. Marcotte had three receptions for 80 and Roberts had 84 yards on 40 carries.
