Cretton earns MCCAA honors
ESCANABA — Alyssa Cretton, a sophomore guard from Niagara, Wis., was named Michigan Community College Athletic Association North Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 14-20, marking the second week in a row a Bay College women’s basketball player earned the award.
Gladstone graduate Alaina Trudeau became the first Bay player to receive the award the previous week.
Cretton, who received the award for the first time, scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a 60-59 loss to Minnesota North-Rainy River Community College in the DQ Classic at Vermillion Community College at Ely, Minn. Nov. 18.
In a 57-36 triumph over Minnesota North-Itasca Community College Nov. 19, Cretton led the Norse with 14 points, five boards and three assists.
She finished the weekend with 35 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and a steal.
