Carney-Nadeau Wolves extend volleyball season with win

CARNEY — The Carney-Nadeau Wolves extended their volleyball season, defeating the Hannahville Soaring Eagles 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-14) in a Division 4 district opener here Tuesday night.

“Hannahville gave us little more of a fight than we thought they would,” said C-N coach Steve Kedsch. “They had some good servers, but our girls played well tonight. I thought we controlled the ball pretty well off serve receives and defensively.”

The Wolves host Stephenson in tonight’s district final at 6 (CDT).

Hailey DeGrave led the Wolves with 11 kills and five service aces. Gracie DuPont also had five aces. Samantha Kedsch added four aces and 23 assists. Marissa Thompson tallied four aces and 10 digs and Elodie Lenca finished with nine kills and seven digs.

“Hailey played a smart match,” said coach DeGrave. “They had a hard time matching up with her.”
