Wolves sweep Wolverines

CARNEY — The Carney-Nadeau volleyball team bounced back from a tough loss Tuesday with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 26-24) win against Mid Peninsula in Carney.

“We rebounded from a tough night on Tuesday and played pretty well,” Wolves coach Steve Kedsch said. “We had a great serving night. We served 91 percent on the night. Samantha Kedsch in the second set had a 10-point run, and she followed that up in the third set with a seven-point service run.”

The Wolves built up momentum through the first two sets and edged the Wolverines in the third to keep the match to three sets.

“Energy on the court and communication was much better, and I really think that helped the team out,” coach Kedsch said. “We limited our unforced errors. We probably had a third of what we did Tuesday night. Nice turnaround.

“Gracie Dupont did a great job serve-receiving. Hailey DeGrave was swinging and hitting the ball really well. Samantha’s service runs were definitely a key. Whenever you score that many points in a row, you typically win that set. She did a great job distributing the ball. We had multiple players with kills.”
