North Central extends win streak

JETS 69, EAGLES 6

STEPHENSON — The visiting North Central Jets extending their 8-player football consecutive win streak to 29 by demolishing Stephenson 69-6 on Friday night.

The Jets (6-0) quickly made sure there was no doubt about who the winning team would be, putting up 22 points in the first quarter and another 33 points in the second on their way to a 55-6 lead at the intermission of the conference clash.

Quarterback Luke Gorzinski helped lead the charge, hitting 5 of 7 passing attempts for 95 yards and two touchdowns — one each to Lane Gorzinski (34 yards) and Jordan Messenger (27 yards). He also carried the ball nine times for 105 yards and three scores. He even caught a 35-yard TD toss from teammate Drew Allgeyer.

Jacob Gorzinski (3 carries, 61 yards) and Dillon Raab (4 carries, 48 yards) both added rushing touchdowns for North Central, with Jacob Gorzinski (5 returns, 91 yards) also returning a punt 50 yards for a score.

Jets kicker Adrian Mercier was a perfect 7 for 7 on PATs.

Defensively, Messenger tallied a team-high 7.5 tackles and a sack in the road win, while Andrew Webber added 6.5 tackles and a sack.

North Central next hosts North Dickinson (0-6) this coming Friday, with the kickoff set for 6 p.m.
