North Central continues to roll
POWERS — The top-ranked North Central Jets continued to roll here Friday night in a 42-0 eight-player football triumph over the third-ranked Forest Park Trojans.
North Central (9-0) recorded 446 yards in total offense while extending its state-record winning streak to 32 games. The Trojans were limited to 64 in this regular-season finale.
Senior Luke Gorzinski threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Messenger, then added a TD on an 82-yard run, giving the Jets a 15-0 lead in the first quarter.
Elijah Gorzinski gave the Jets a 22-0 cushion on an 88-yard dash and Luke Gorzinski tossed a 39-yard aerial to Dillon Raab for another score for a 28-0 advantage.
Raab then scored his second TD on a 24-yard fumble recovery for a 36-0 halftime advantage.
Jake Gorzinski ended the scoring on a three-yard run late in the third stanza.
Luke Gorzinski ran for 95 yards on five carries and hit 5-of-8 passes for 113. Elijah Gorzinski rushed for 85 yards in five attempts. Jacob Gorzinski had 74 on five carries and Raab caught three passes for 60.
Defensively, Luke Gorzinski collected seven tackles and Andrew Webber added six.
The Jets host Stephenson (6-3) and Forest Park (7-2) hosts Lake Linden-Hubbell (6-3) in Division 2 regional playoff openers Friday at 7 p.m. (EDT).
