Jets remain undefeated, crush Nordics

FELCH — Luke Gorzinski and the North Central Jets didn’t wait long to show who was boss in Friday night’s Great Lakes Eight Conference-West clash against host North Dickinson.

Gorzinski torched the Nordics’ defense for a 55-yard scoring run just 16 seconds into the game, as the visiting Jets (7-0) pushed their record 8-player win streak to 30 games with a 55-0 victory.

And, the Jets star was far from done.

In just the first quarter, Gorzinski also threw three TD passes — including a 53-yard strike to Dylan Plunger, 42-yard score to Ashton Fleetwood and 17-yard TD pass to Lane Gorzinski — as North Central flew out to a 34-0 lead by the end of the quarter and held a commanding 48-0 advantage over the Nordics (0-7) at the half.

Luke Gorzinski would end the game with 189 yards in total offense, including a perfect 5 for 5 throwing the ball for 134 yards and the three first quarter touchdowns.

The Jets also got rushing scores from Jacob Gorzinski (2 carries, 41 yards, 1 TD) and Owen Chartier (1 carry, 4 yards, 1 TD), as well as a pair of touchdowns on punt returns by Jacob Gorzinski (60 yards) and Elijah Gorzinski (55 yards).

Kicker Adrian Mercier hit all five of his point-after attempts.

As dominant as the Jets were offensively, they might have had an even better night defensively holding North Dickinson to -16 yards in total offense.

Jordan Messenger led North Central with four tackles, including two for a loss, and a sack, while teammates Drew Allgeyer (4 tackles, 2 TFL), Andrew Webber (3.5 tackles, 1 TFL), Dillon Raab (3 tackles, team-high 2.5 TFL) and Max Nason (2.5 tackles, 2 TFL) helped hold the Nordics scoreless.

Starting at $3.50/week.
