Wolves fall to Florence

CARNEY — Matching up with Florence, Wis. proved difficult for the Carney-Nadeau Wolves in a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-15) volleyball loss to the Bobcats here Monday night.

C-N’s Mariska Laurila collected four kills and nine digs in the non-conference match. Hailey DeGrave added three kills and three service aces, and Samantha Kedsch had nine assists.

“I thought we did well at times,” said C-N coach Steve Kedsch. “Florence is probably the best team we’ve seen this year. They were pretty aggressive. Our biggest issue was serve receives. We weren’t moving our feet very well. Although, I thought we played with good energy. We did some good things defensively and offensively.”

The Wolves, who also dropped the JV match 25-20, 25-19, host Rapid River Thursday.

Carney-Nadeau — DeGrave (three aces, three kills); Laurila (four kills, nine digs); Lenca (two kills, four digs); Kedsch (nine assists); DuPont (four digs); Lawrence-Smits (four digs).

Starting at $3.50/week.
