Jets shut out Gladiators

ONTONAGON — The visiting North Central Jets pummeled the Ontonagon Gladiators for a 67-0 victory in the Great Lakes Eight Conference-West matchup Friday.

The Jets (4-0) flew out to a commanding 26-0 lead in the first quarter and more than doubled that in building a 54-0 advantage at the half.

The Jets’ Luke Gorzinski also haunted Ontonagon (2-2) when playing defense, picking off three Gladiator passes and returning two for scores. He wasn’t alone, as teammates Dillon Raab and Lane Gorzinski each picked one off and returned them for a touchdown.

Offensively, Luke Gorzinski completed 3 or 4 passes for 39 yards and had two carries for 43 yards and a score. Jacob Gorzinski completed his only pass of the night for four yards and a touchdown.

Raab led a Jets’ offense that tallied 275 yards in total offense by running for 92 yards on five carries and a touchdown.

Jordan Messenger notchedwith five and a half tackles, including four solo hits for North Central. Collin Cordy had one and a half sacks to go with one solo tackle and an assist.

The Jets travel to face Lake Linden-Hubbell (3-1) Saturday.
