Broncos win at Gwinn

GWINN — The Bark River-Harris football team hit the ground running in its season opener against Gwinn, with a 46-16 win.

“We had a lot of unselfish play tonight,” Broncos coach Al Stenberg said. “Everyone who touched the ball tonight ran hard, and the guys up front did their job. There’s not really one guy who stood out. Everyone was doing their jobs well. We have a lot of team players, and that’s what wins football games. The O-line blocked really well tonight.”

Bark River’s Vincent Martin finished with 157 yards on the ground alongside two touchdowns and two two-point conversion rushes.

Broncos quarterback Ethan Ives finished 3-for-4 with 68 yards and one touchdown.

“The biggest score of the game was in the second quarter,” Stenberg said. “We had a 99 ½-yard run by Ethan Ives.”

BR-H rushed for 435 yards.

Defensively, Ben Shiverski and Kavin Fredrick both finished with 10 tackles for BR-H.

Bark River hosts West Iron County Thursday.
