Gladstone sweeps Maroons
MENOMINEE — The Gladstone softball swept Menominee here Wednesday with 17-0 and 10-0 wins.
The nightcap went the distance, with consistent scoring from the Braves, adding at least one run in every inning except the third.
Gladstone’s Tia Schone went the distance on the mound, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out 14.
Samara Sanville finished the nightcap with two RBIs and one hit, and Lauren Sundquist, Addie Trombley and Reese Herioux all finished with one RBI.
The Braves clinched the game early in the four-inning opener, scoring a staggering 12 runs.
Montgomery Pepin earned the win for the Braves, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out seven.
Herioux collected five RBIs and three hits, and Schone earned three RBIs and three hits. Sundquist, Trombley and Kenzingtin Pepin all finished with two RBIs. Sundquist also pulled down two hits, and Trombley and Kenzingtin Pepin both collected two hits.
Gladstone hosts Traverse City St. Francis today.
