MILWAUKEE -- Hunter Eichhorn, a graduate student at Marquette University, has been named the school's male outstanding athlete.
Eichhorn, who was one of two Marquette golfers selected to the Big East all-conference team, is a native of Carney, Mich. and a former basketball player at Carney-Nadeau High School.
Teammate Tyler Leach was also a Big East Conference first-team selection, while Max Lyons was a second-team choice.
Eichhorn received the outstanding male athlete award at the Blue and Golden Globes banquet recently.
Eichhorn has also qualified for a fourth trip to the NCAA regional golf tournament. He will play in the Columbus, Ohio regional May 16-18. It is one of six regional events.
He is a two-time medalist in the Big East Conference and is the top-seeded at-large entrant at Columbus.
Eichhorn is ranked 86th by Golfstats.
