MANISTIQUE — The Escanaba hockey team tried to ensure its victory late in the third period with an unassisted goal from Sawyer LaMarch, but Manistique netted one of its own with nine seconds left (Judas Way assisted by Matthew Rahilly) to force overtime.

The Eskymos earned the 6-5 win with a goal from Karson Krutina — with an assist from LaMarch — with 1:31 left.

After a successful first period, the Eskymos led by 2-0 (goals from Brayden Martineau and Jayger LaMarch with assists from Gunner Bourdeau and Clayton Smith and Brett Labre).

The Emeralds answered back in the second with a staggering four goals (Gavin Nutkins, Kobie Petrich and two from Dakota Maki) to tie it at 4-4 entering the third period.

Each team scored one apiece to send the game to overtime.
