UPKA closes 2021 season

STEPHENSON - The Upper Peninsula Kayak Anglers held its Championship event this weekend along the Menominee River.

Alex Dolliver (Menominee) placed first in the event with Matt Linseman (Munising) in second and Jonathan Pepin (Bark River) in third.

The event was the culmination of 15 tournaments held across the U.P. this year that hosted a total of 175 registered anglers from the U.P., the Lower Peninsula, Wisconsin, Ohio and Illinois.

The final overall standings for the year saw Brandon Bissell (Marquette) on top followed by Dolliver, Pepin, Nate Mitchell (Munising) and Brittany Weirich (Negaunee).

Bissell was also named UPKA Angler of the Year while Mitchell earned UPKA Rookie of the Year honors.
