GLADSTONE -- The Gladstone Braves took care of their home courts for the second straight day here Thursday in an 8-0 girls' tennis triumph over the Gwinn Modeltowners.

"Overall, I am very pleased with the outcome today," said Braves coach Ryan Barron. "The girls came out with high energy and confidence. They have been working hard on their game all year, and it is paying off for them."

The Braves were fresh from Wednesday's 7-1 victory over Kingsford.

Addison Trombley defeated Lily Kerry 6-4, 6-3 in No. 1 singles, and Alesha Marenger topped Miaha Schiefel 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2.

"The match was really fun," said Tia Shone, who blanked Brooke Chaput 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. "I had a great time. My opponent was very nice and called extremely well. I played very well. My serves were good today. The next step for me will be placing. I placed well, but it could have been better. I think it was a successful meet and can't wait to play Westwood."

Emma Wagner and Montgomery Pepin took a 6-2, 6-2 decision from Ashley Scott and Madalyn Brady at No. 1 doubles.

Rachel Krouth-Maggie Buckley beat Brita Anderson-Arianna Arnese 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2.

"We had a great match," said Krouth. "It was well played and very fun. Our opponents were great sports, and I'm glad we had a chance to play them."

Sophia Rosa-Reese Herioux provided the Braves and a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Azlyn Wills-Kayla Watt.

"It was a great win today for No. 3 doubles," said Rosa. "My doubles partner had amazing serves. I had some great netplay as well."
