Eichhorn named
PING All-Region

MILWAUKEE — Another accolade has been placed in Hunter Eichhorn’s bulging portfolio.
The Marquette University red-shirt senior golfer from Carney-Nadeau has been named to the PING All-Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
He is the first Marquette golfer to receive four midwest regional awards.
Eichhorn won the Upper Peninsula Golf Association men’s title in 2018 and has also won the Wisconsin State Amateur. This spring he landed his second Big East Conference player of the year honor.
He won four Upper Peninsula Class D titles at Carney-Nadeau.
Oaks Ladies
GLADSTONE — Pat DeGrave led the Oaks Ladies League Monday night with a score of 38.
Holly Canull 40, Sharon Pinar 41 and Karen McCorkle 42 were the top four.
Tied at fifth were Becky Papaik, Sally Erkkila, Mary Bergman, Morgan Whitehead, Robin Schwartz and Holly Sundman at 45.
Mary Clement and Patti Kivioja both had 46 while Jami Pond, Krystal Robinette and Rosie Spindler had 47.
Cindy McCall, Denise Porath, Betty Andrews and Patti Kremers all shot 48, and Kirsten Vandeville, Cheryl Kamin, Daina Norden, Sue Cossette, Joyce Sheedlo and Debbie Peterson 49.
GGC Men
GLADSTONE — Steve Bratonia shot 73 to lead the 18-hole scores for the Gladstone Golf Club Men’s League this week.
Folowing him were Rich Trombly 75, Wayne Marshall 76, Mark Hager 77, and Scott Neurohr, Kelly Shea and Bob Nachtway 78. Dennis Bratonia rounded out things at 79.
Adam Scheeneman 36 led the 9-hole scores with Korey Smith 37 and Josh Miron 39 second and third.
Gladstone pickleball
clinic begins soon
GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Area Pickleball club is offering a Beginners Pickleball Clinic for adults 18 years or older.
The clinic will cover pickleball terminology, rules, serving, returning, scoring and more.
Participants can choose to attend Monday, June 14 at 6 p.m. or Tuesday, June 15 at 9 a.m.
Clinics will be held at the Gladstone Pickleball courts just off 10th street near the Jones Elementary School. Paddles and balls will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, proper footwear and bring their own water. There is no cost for the clinic.
