WESTWOOD -- The Rapid River Rockets dropped a pair of games 6-4, 13-10 Wednesday against the Westwood Patriots.

In game two, the Rockets got down early and never recovered.

"We had five errors in the game with four occurring in the first inning leading to six unearned runs," said Rockets coach George Kanyuh. " Although we played well the remainder of the game with only one error, the first inning created too big of a hole to dig out of."

Natalie Belanger started the game and pitched the first two innings. She had three strikeouts with two walks. She gave up two earned runs on four hits.

CC Pilon finished the last four for Rapid with three strikeouts. She allowed six hits, two walks and one earned run.

Belanger pitched all of game one and fanned twelve Westwood batters. She gave up six hits and two walks.

Pilon had two triples and scored two runs, while Myah Pearson also had her bat going with two hits with a double.

The Rockets only had one error in the opener.

Rapid River will host the Menominee Maroons today.

Starting at /week.
