Braves lose 7-1 in Peshtigo

PESHTIGO — The Gladstone Braves lost 7-1 Thursday afternoon against the Peshtigo Bulldogs in Peshtgo.

“Defensively we were pretty solid but we had a little bit of a struggle pitching,” said Braves coach Lucas LaCosse. “I think we could have done a lot better. Peshtigo was a decent team but I thought we were a better team and just didn’t play like it today.”

LaCosse said a major role in Thursday’s loss was a lack of hits off of Braves bats.

“As a team we only had four hits,” he said. “You can’t really win the game with only four hits.”

Dylan Pepin started the game on the mound for Gladstone and was relieved in the third by Carter VanBrocklin.

The lone run for the Braves came when Cam Kelly crossed the plate off a Braden Sundquist hit.

The Braves come back home to Gladstone Saturday to host a doubleheader against Calumet.
