Superior Central press release
EBEN — Superior Central senior quarterback Kyle Frusti signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for St. Norbert College Feb. 25 at Superior Central.
Frusti, who was a three-year varsity player for the Cougars, also participated on the baseball and basketball teams.
Frusti plans on studying biology in college.
“We are excited to have Kyle come in and develop as a player in our program,” head football coach for St. Norbert Dan McCarty said. “As many of our players, it’s about the player and personal development that they have in our program, and how good of a player, person and employee they can be leaving SNC.”
Frusti was an All-U.P. 8-player football first team selection at both the athlete and punter positions. He was also selected as an All-Great Lakes 8 Conference quarterback and kicker as well as an All-Western Division selection.
The two-year captain was also selected as the team’s offensive MVP in 2020.
“St. Norbert has a history of a competitive football program, but what set it apart was the academic opportunities that are available at the college,” Frusti said. “My goals as a college player are to find my place on the team and contribute however I can.”
Frusti finished his senior season as the team’s second-highest rusher while throwing for 1,259 yards on 75 completions and 11 touchdowns through the air.
“Kyle was thrust into the starting quarterback role as a sophomore after we lost our starter to an injury,” Cougars coach Sam Eggleston said. “He is the most talented passing quarterback I have ever coached in 10 years, and we built our offense around him for the past two seasons. I’m sure glad we did.”
Frusti won’t be the first from his family to attend St. Norbert’s.
“Obviously, the family has a love of SNC, with his mom being an alumna, so pretty neat to see another generation being a Green Knight,” McCarty said.
