Esky and Gladstone volleyball honored in GNC
ESCANABA — Escanaba earned three slots on the Great Northern Conference first team for volleyball recently after being selected by GNC coaches.
Two were the pillars of the Eskymos’ attack, senior Nicole Kamin and sophomore Katelyn Stahlboerger. Joining the duo was junior Bailey Barron.
Rounding out the GNC first team honorees were Marquette’s Celinda Brunswick and Kingsford’s Katherine Erickson and Christy Glodowski.
Two slots on the second team were taken up by Gladstone seniors Megan Crow and Amber King-Rabitoy.
Following on the second team were Roxy Nelson and Katelyn Dunleazy of Marquette and the Flivvers’ Grace Roberts and Talia Wallis.
It was the Redettes’ Seiler Hruska who took home Player of the Year, and it was another Redette that earned Defensive Player of the Year: Maria Millado.
Copping nods at honorable mention were Escanaba’s Mari Bink, Anna Smith and Carney Salo, Gladstone’s Ahna Larson and Alissa Sanville, Menominee’s Kayla Drifka, Marquette’s Taylor Ragusett and Kingsford’s Emma Andrews.
