MENOMINEE — The Bark River-Harris volleyball team trampled a diminished Menominee 3-0 (25-10, 25-6, 25-13) here Wednesday during a Division 3 district semifinal.
“Menominee was playing with six players here tonight and held up well considering,” Broncos’ coach Jennifer Ives said.
With 21 aces overall, the Broncos had a strong serving night.
“The game was about strong serving, and we ended the night with 21 aces overall,” Ives said. “We also were able to add 25 kills, with almost all of our hitters getting in on the action. Both Cara Zawacki and Allison Richer had a long run of serves, and Lexi Berg led in aces on the night with five. Morgan Caeppart, Kassidy Roll and Aspen Frederick all had a strong night on the net, and Tressa Ives and Alaska Peterson were able to find room on the outside to put some hits away. Carley Varoni was even able to add to the attack count.”
Ives also felt that serve receive was a strong point.
“Our defense received the serves flawlessly, allowing us to set up our offense,” she said.
The Broncos look to hold on to the momentum as they host Manistique Friday for the district finals.
“Overall it was a fun night for the girls as they look forward to district finals on Friday,” Ives said.
