BR-H shuts out L’Anse, earn homefield adv. for playoffs

L’Anse — The Bark River-Harris Broncos earned a 28-0, shutout victory for the second week Friday night against the L’Anse Purple Hornets in L’Anse.

Junior Trevor Lippens and senior Aidan Johnson each scored two touchdowns for the Broncos. Johnson also ran in for a two point conversion while senior Dylon Lippens brought down a pass in the endzone for another two point conversion.

Bark River totaled over 350 yards rushing on offense while their defense held the Purple Hornets to a total of 41 overall yards of offense.

With the win, Bark River-Harris heads into the playoffs with momentum and homefield advantage on their side, accomplishing goals set out by the team pre-game.

“We knew we would have a home game if we won,” said head coach Al Stenberg. “That was the goal going in to the game, stay healthy and win.”

The Broncos host the first round of playoff next weekend.
