Wolves top Norway on Cancer Awareness Night

CARNEY — The Carney-Nadeau boys took care of the ball and their home court here Tuesday night in a 57-44 basketball triumph over the Norway Knights.

C-N led 11-6 after the first quarter and 29-17 at halftime of this Skyline Central Conference contest.

“We did a pretty good job taking care of the ball and helping inside on (Kody) Hendricks,” said C-N coach Paul Polfus. “I thought Beau Koffman also did a nice job on (Logan) Parolini. For the most part we did a pretty nice job on rebounds.”

The Wolves (9-7 overall, 8-5 SCC) committed just eight turnovers and hit 20-of-52 field goals.

Brett LaFord hit 20 points. Koffman recorded 16 points and six assists and Max Baumler had 15 points. Hendricks finished with 21 and Parolini had 10 for the Knights (9-5 overall, 7-2 league).

“Jerry Lee (LaFord) hit a couple 3s and gave us a boost,” said Polfus. “We did a pretty good job moving the ball from one side to the other. This is a nice win for our kids. They also played a pretty good game on Saturday (in an 80-78 overtime loss at Milwaukee Destiny).”

Norway, which won the JV game, visits Forest Park Tuesday. The Wolves host Stephenson Friday.
