Bay men rout Finlandia

HANCOCK -- Christian Alexander scored 22 points, Matt Wagner added 20 and the Bay College men rolled past Finlandia University 99-72 here Wednesday for their second win over the Lions in the last five days.

The Norse also beat the Lions 97-78 at home Saturday.

In Wednesday's contest, the Norse (16-7) jumped out to a 25-8 lead in the first six minutes and led 48-28 at the half.

Finlandia, which lost its 51st straight game, never pulled within closer than 15 points in the second half.

Six Norse players finished in double figures, including Alexander, Wagner, Chris Dobessi with 12, Ryan Robinette and Marcus Harris with 11 and Khalid Fleming with 10. Dobessi added 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double, Wagner had seven rebounds and Robinette, Alexander and Dondre Yohe had six boards apiece.

Superior Central High School graduate Joe Heinoen led the Lions (0-20) with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Devin Moultrie added 17 points, while Jacob Ohm chipped in 12 points and three triples.

Bay visits Bryant & Stratton College Saturday at 4 p.m. EST.
