Broncos fall at home to Nordics

HARRIS — Basketball can be a pretty simple game sometimes — you have to put the ball in the hoop.

The Bark River-Harris girls struggled to do that Friday night against Skyline Central Conference opponent North Dickinson, falling 47-33 on their home floor.

BR-H (1-2, 1-1 SCC) led 16-9 after the first quarter and was still within 25-24 at the half before scoring just nine points in the second half.

The Broncos shot 13 for 55 from the field, including 3 for 31 from 3-point range against the Nordics’ 2-3 zone defense. North Dickinson shot 18 for 57 and 3 for 17 from downtown.

Allison Richer and Gracie Peterson led the Broncos with nine points apiece.

Hannah Clark led the Nordics with 13 points, while Chrislyn Inglese and Skye Ledzian each chipped in 11.

The Nordics, who outrebounded BR-H 41-36, also won the jayvee game 36-31.
